Spray lay-up is a process specific to chopped glass fibres. A special gun both supplies the resin and chops the fibre. The resin/fibre mix is then directed into a mould. Because of the flow requirements in the gun, high fibre content densities are not possible. This method is a low cost technique requiring a pneumatic fibre chopping tool and a resin sprayer as the only major items for capital outlay.
