Wet lay-up is widely used, but health and safety considerations particularly with styrene emissions are now limiting its use. The reinforcement is placed into or against the mould, and resin is forced between the fibres by the use of brushes or rollers. Costs other than for labour are minimal. The next most expensive item can be the mould or the tool, depending on what item is being manufactured. Normally the cure will be at room temperature. This method is particularly suitable for one-off or small number production.
