Finishing processes can include machining, surface finishing, and coating or painting. It is not possible to indicate costs for these processes as they are so varied. Reinforced polymer composites can often be machined, but care is generally required to ensure that reinforcement material at the surfaces exposed by machining is protected from environmental contact by some additional coating process.
