Glass fibre is the commonest reinforcing material used in polymer composites. It has at least as high a tensile strength as any of the other fibres but the lowest modulus.

Typical variants are:

  E-glass View Section
  ECR-glass View Section
  S-glass, R-glass and Te-glass View Section
  Silica/quartz View Section
  D-glass View Section
