This is more highly crystalline than PEEK. The melting point is lower, however, meaning that processing can be done below 350°C. All PPS grades can be compression moulded whilst only linear PPS can be injection moulded. The chemical, solvent and radiation resistance is good as well as being flame resistant and having good dimensional stability. However the material is difficult to pigment, is notch sensitive and has poor tracking resistance. When reinforced with glass fibre the composite exhibits excellent fatigue and creep resistance in addition to high temperature and insulation resistance.
