MDA (4,4'-methylenedianiline) and DDS (4,4'-diaminodiphenyl-sulfone) are both used for hardening or curing epoxies. MDA is known to cause reversible liver toxicity (hepatotoxicity), can damage the retina of the eye and is a suspected carcinogen. DDS on the other hand has no known effects due to occupational exposure. Other aromatic amines are considered to be only slightly irritating to the skin.
